2 dead in New Year’s Day shooting in Dayton

DAYTON — Two people are dead after a shooting in Dayton on New Year’s Day.

Around 3:21 a.m. crews were dispatched to the 1100 block of Dennison Ave on reports of a shooting.

News Center 7 was on the scene and learned at least one person was dead. The Montgomery County Coroner’s Office later confirmed two people were killed in the shooting.

Suspect information has not been released.

In a 911 call, a man told dispatchers he was driving through the area of Dennison Avenue when he saw a car with flashing lights and it looked like someone had shot at the car.

“The two individuals in there, ma’am I ran away as fast as possible,” the man told the dispatcher.

The dispatcher asked the caller if it looked like the people inside were alive.

“No ma’am,” the man replied.

No other information is available at this time.
