2 injured, dog killed in Englewood house fire

ENGLEWOOD — UPDATE @ 12 p.m.:

Two people were injured in a house fire in Englewood on Wednesday morning.

The fire was reported in the first block of Wolf Avenue around 9:08 a.m.

When crews got to the scene, they found heavy fire coming from the house.

Two people with burns were transported to area hospitals for treatment, Englewood Fire Chief Anthony Terrace confirmed.

There were four dogs in the home at the time of the fire. Three survived and one died from its injuries.

Video from the scene showed damage to the front entrance of the home. Smoke was also seen coming from the back of the home. Terrace said there was “significant fire damage” and that the residents will be displaced.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
