Versailles police say Kenneth S. Jones was arrested and booked into Darke County Jail for assault, resisting arrest and disorderly conduct in the alleged fight at the Versailles Inn.

Law enforcement and medics were sent to the hotel, on West Main Street, around 11 p.m. after at least two people had been injured in the apparent fight.

Police say a couple from Cincinnati left a local bar and were walking back to the hotel when they were reportedly assaulted.

The couple say Jones and a woman asked them for a lighter before Jones reportedly assaulted the Cincinnati couple.

The suspects attempted to run when police arrived, but were captured.

The woman with Jones was detained, but never booked into jail.

Jones was tasered by police for resisting arrest and failing to follow commands. He was taken to jail, but later bonded out.

Reports indicate the woman who was assaulted suffered facial injuries. It’s unclear if the alleged assaulted couple were taken to a local hospital following the attack.
