Motorcyclist suffers life-threatening injuries in crash with car in Dayton

UPDATE @ 9:44 p.m.:  The male on the motorcycle was not wearing a helmet and suffered life-threatening injuries, Dayton police Sgt. Andrew Zecchini said.

He has been taken to Miami Valley Hospital. Police have not released his name, age or address.

A female minor who was driving has been taken to Dayton Children's Hospital, suffering minor injuries, the sergeant said.

Whether she will be cited as the at-fault driver has not been determined, he said.

UPDATE @ 7:56 p.m.

A passenger in a Chevy Impala that hit a motorcycle in the 1600 block of North Gettysburg Avenue said the car pulled out of a gas station and the driver apparently didn't see the bike.

The motorcycle rider has been taken to a hospital. That person’s condition is not available.

The driver also tells us she didn't see the motorcycle. The accident occurred near a Clark gas station.

North Gettysburg Avenue remains shut down from North James H. McGee Boulevard to the north, and Fruedenberger Avenue to the south.

INITIAL REPORT

Police and a rescue squad are on working a vehicle accident involving a car and a motorcycle in the 1600 block of North Gettysburg Avenue.

The accident was dispatched about 7:15 p.m. and police have shut down a section of North Gettysburg, near a Clark gas station, to deal with the accident and the resulting investigation.

At least one person has been injured. We're working to learn details about that victim and the circumstances of the accident.
