OSHP is continuing to investigate the crash.
No charges have been filed at this time.
Alcohol and drugs do not appear to be a factor in the crash that remains under investigation, according to the patrol.
Maineville police were dispatched just before 7:30 p.m. to the 100 block of East Foster-Maineville Road, Capt. Scott Aronoff, the assistant police chief, said in a prepared statement.
The investigation was turned over to the state patrol, Aronoff said.
Shearer was not seeking re-election this fall.
The candidates running for Maineville mayor in November are Bob Beebe and Michael Kembel, according to elections records.
