Police release photos of person of interest in Springfield fatal shooting

Springfield police have released photos of a person of interest in the fatal shooting of Jose Hermilo Lopez Gutierrez.

UPDATE @ 7:52 a.m. (May 7):

The victim has been identified as Jose Hermilo Lopez Gutierrez, 50, of Springfield, according to the Clark County Coroner’s office. An autopsy will be performed today, a coroner’s investigator said.

The man who was shot Monday evening in Springfield has died and authorities are now investigating the shooting as a homicide, a Springfield police sergeant confirmed.

Police and a medic unit were dispatched just before 4:30 p.m. to the area of Clifton and East Grand avenues on a report of a manwho was shot, a police supervisor said.

Crime scene tape was put in the 1100 block of Clifton Avenue.

The victim’s name was not immediately released.
