Loaded gun, soft-sided cooler found in brush in Dayton

A loaded gun was found Sunday afternoon at the Garden Station on E. Fourth Street.

The caller told police they found a neoprene pack with a loaded gun inside while they were in brush taking photos of murals along the train tracks, according to a report.

When police arrived, they located the loaded weapon, and ejected the magazine and the round.

The serial number appeared to be filed off the weapon, read the report.

The weapon also appeared to have been in brush for a while due to rust spots and debris on the neoprene pack.
