“We go from having no work in the winter to having days and days of work, and our phones are blowing up, which is great,” Nick Smith with Wenzler Landscaping said.
Smith is the owner of Wenzler Landscaping and Mulch, which has been in business for more than 20 years.
Without snow, business is slow.
“You did not stay busy and did not make money,” Smith said. “Weather was just very warm, very mild.”

Kettering’s Valleywood Ski and Snowboard Shop has seen a big jump in sales since fall.
“Folks rolling in the door, that buzzer is going off all day,” Zach Chew with Valleywood Ski and Snowboard Shop said.
Chew has worked at the shop for eight years. He says that talk of snow storms brings in new customers.
“We find a lot of joy in getting people kitted up, getting ready and letting them have great experiences on the slopes,” Chew said.
Smith said he has about 70 clients he will be working with this weekend, but he says anyone in an emergency is welcome to call.
“If we can’t get to you, I can probably give you a solid recommendation,” Smith said.
