RIVERSIDE — Flames caused half a million dollars in damage to a Riverside car wash when a car inside the carwash caught fire in December.

A Flying Ace employee pressed an emergency button to stop the car wash, and the driver of the car was able to exit the car and building safely with no injuries.

With the help from Wright-Patterson, Dayton, and Kettering Fire Departments, Riverside Firefighters worked to extinguish the flames, but windy conditions made it harder to put the fire out.

News Center 7′s Taylor Robertson was there Friday as the carwash welcomed back drivers.

“Excited to be back in the community, really proud of our first responders and how quickly they acted and we were able to open back up so quickly,” Site Manager Amanda Graham said.
