DAYTON — A Dayton family is working with the Red Cross after their apartment was damaged in a fire Wednesday, according to the Dayton Fire Department.

Fire crews were called to the 1900 block of W Grand Ave around 5 p.m., according to the fire department. When they arrived, there was smoke visible outside of the two-story apartment building.

The fire was located in the attic, and firefighters worked for over two hours to put it out.
The Dayton Fire Department Fire Investigations Unit determined that the fire was started by an electrical malfunction.
