WASHINGTON TWP. — Washington Township Fire Department in Montgomery County has received the Ohio Fire Department of the Year award.
The award comes from the Ohio Department of Commerce’s Division of State Fire Marshal of Public Safety’s Division of EMS.
Chief Scott Kujawa said in a video accepting the award that the department has the most credentialed officers in the state.

“This award is really about the women and men of this department, they work continuously extremely hard to serve our community and ensure that we have the best fire department in the state,” Kujawa said in the video.
The award has been given to fire departments throughout the state for 41 years.
