DAYTON — The recent drop in the average gas price in the Dayton area continues Monday.
On Monday, the average price of regular gas in Dayton is listed as $3.57, according to both AAA and GasBuddy. Last Tuesday, the average price was $3.62, according to GasBuddy.
The decrease in pricing comes after the average price jumped roughly 20 cents from Aug. 29 to Aug. 30.

Dayton-area gas prices have been on a decline over the last three months. A month ago, the average price was $3.81, AAA reports. The average gas price three months ago was hovering around $5, according to GasBuddy.
Dayton’s highest recorded average price ever for regular gas was recorded June 8 when the average was $5.08, AAA reports.
The national average Monday is $3.78, which is roughly 10 cents cheaper than a week ago and 33 cents less than a month ago. Still, AAA reports that the national average is up 70 cents from a year ago.
