Local payroll services company to move business hub to Arcade building

DAYTON — Area payroll services firm 937 Payroll has agreed to become the latest tenant to sign a lease to occupy part of the Dayton Arcade building.

The lease is good for five years, with the company’s new location occupying around 1,400 square feet in the annex of the building, a spokesperson for the University of Dayton and The Entrepreneurs Center said in a media release Monday. The agreement brings payroll, human resources, hiring, onboarding and other services for entrepreneurs who will work at the Arcade, the spokesperson said.

With the commitment from 937 Payroll, about one-third of the space in the Arcade’s annex, where businesses, nonprofits, and other organizations can lease long-term space, will be occupied when the building opens in early 2021, according to the spokesperson. Additionally around 45 percent of the private co-share offices in the Arcade, which operate on a flexible, month-to-month basis, are also committed.

“We are committed to being a part of the greater Dayton community and are thankful for the tremendous support we have received from The Entrepreneurs Center since our founding,” 937 Payroll Founder and President Bryan Hunter said in the release.

“This office will serve as our hub as our business continues to grow, allowing us to not only serve the Dayton area but also the Columbus and Cincinnati markets via 614 Payroll and 513 Payroll. We are happy to be home at The Arcade.”

Arcade project leaders said the company is a perfect fit for the center as they started out as a start-up company just a few years ago and understand the challenges entrepreneurs face.

“It wasn’t long ago that 937 Payroll was a startup, so they understand entrepreneurial challenges and can help businesses succeed. We are thrilled that they will join us in moving from our current facility to the Hub, where they can continue to flourish,” Scott Koorndyk, president of The Entrepreneurs Center said.
