DAYTON — The location of a new Dayton Metro Library branch in West Dayton has been secured.
Later in 2021, the library plans to open the new location at the corner of State Route 35 and Abbey Avenue.

The west branch is a consolidation of the current Madden Hills and Westwood branches, library spokespeople said in a press release.
“We knew this was the right location, but it took longer than hoped to secure the property,” said Tim Kambitsch, executive director. “We appreciate the patience of the community and thank the City of Dayton for making it happen.”
The project is part of the Dayton Metro Library’s Libraries for a Smarter Future system wide facilities improvement project, made possible by a $187 million bond issue approved by Montgomery County voters in 2012.
