ZANESFIELD — Mad River Mountain has started making snow as temperatures have fallen below freezing, however an opening day for the 2017-2018 season at the ski slopes has not been announced.

The snow making started around 2 a.m. Wednesday and is expected to continue through at least Friday, according to Mad River Mountain.
This year will be the 56th season for the ski hill.

Last year, Mad River Mountain unveiled a new $6.5 million ski lodge after the old lodge was destroyed by fire.
