LOGAN COUNTY — Mad River Mountain has officially opened for the season.
According to a social media post from Mad River Mountain, the resort opened Friday, January 7th at 3 p.m.

Mad River will be open seven days a week, but due to staffing constraints, there will be limited operational hours this season, the post said. The resort will be open weekdays from 3 p.m. tp 9 p.m. and weekends and holidays from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
“I know this will be disappointing news to some, but the reality is we are dealing with the same challenges that have affected many other businesses across the country and around the world. We are not unaffected by the nationwide staffing shortages, supply chain issues and impacts of the Omicron variant. At this moment in time, we simply don’t have the employees required to operate the resort safely at the hours we have kept in previous years,” noted Larry Kuebler, the general manager.

While these are the resort’s hours for the foreseeable future, Kuebler said in the post that the resort will continue efforts to grow the workforce as much as possible and increase operations as they are able to do so safely.
