MESA, AZ — A man is facing multiple charges after he allegedly filmed himself spraying bug killer on food products inside an Arizona Walmart.
Charles Smith, 27, is facing charges of inducing poison, criminal damage, endangerment, and theft, according to the Mesa Police Department.

Police said on Dec. 19 Smith went into a Walmart “intending to film pranks for social media.”
Smith got a can of Hot Shot Ultra Bed Bug and Flea Killer from the shelf and sprayed various items including vegetables, fruit, and rotisserie chickens, police allege.

He filmed his face, the pesticide can, and the act of spraying. He later posted the video online.
Officers quickly identified and arrested Smith.
A Walmart spokesperson told CBS affiliate AZFamily workers removed all the directly impacted products and cleaned and sanitized the affected area of the store.
