Man arrested after shed fire, charged with arson, burglary

RICHMOND, IN — After investigating a shed fire in Richmond, officers arrested a man and charged him with arson, according to a social media post from the Richmond Police Department.

Duncan Souza, 26, was arrested on arson and burglary charges, according to police.

The shed fire was Jan. 26 around 9 p.m. near the 700 block of NW 5th Street, according to police.

“The outstanding collaboration between our detectives and responding officers demonstrates the Richmond Police Department’s unwavering commitment to justice. An arrest in this case in under 24 hours underscores the dedication and expertise of our team in protecting our community,” Richmond Police Chief Kyle Weatherly said.

The investigation is ongoing, police say. They ask anyone with information to contact the Richmond Police Department.
