Man being held on $300K bond after police chase in Montgomery County

HUBER HEIGHTS — A 51-year-old man was arrested after a police chase Thursday morning.

Michael Dignan is facing one count of failure to comply with order or signal of police officer, according to Montgomery County Municipal Court records.

As previously reported by News Center 7, Huber Heights police were called to the 6100 block of Cardiff Place for a domestic dispute.

When officers arrived on scene, Dignan allegedly left the scene in a Chevy Silverado.

Dignan did not stop when officers tried to pull him over, according to a previous News Center 7 report.

A short chase began but ended when Dignan lost control and hit a tree near Endicott Road.

Dignan reportedly ran off into the wood line.

Officers saw him with a gun in his hand, which led to a large law enforcement response.

News Center 7 has a crew in the area of Rip Rap Road and Powell Road and reports seeing Huber Heights officers, Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office deputies, and at least one SWAT vehicle.

Police were able to take Dignan into custody in a wooded area off Powell Road.

Dignan reported minor injuries and was treated at a local emergency room before being taken to the Montgomery County Jail.

He is being held in jail on a $300,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court on Jan. 6.

The case remains under investigation.
