“We all three knocked on the door and then we realized the door was unlocked, so we walked into the front door and he was right in the entry way. There’s blood everywhere,” a 911 caller told dispatchers.
Riverside police Maj. Angela Jackson told News Center 7 officers entered the residence and found Hannah deceased. He had suffered multiple stab wounds.
Sturgeon said Brogan was the last known person to have contact with Hannah. According to Sturgeon, Hannah and Brogan had a past romantic relationship and once lived together.
Brogan is in custody in Logan County, Kentucky, and remains charged with multiple crimes that include assault on a peace officer. His bond there has been set at $500,000, Sturgeon said.
Sturgeon said police do not have a timeline for the extradition process because to the severity of the charges Brogan faces in Kentucky.
Services for Hannah are scheduled for Dec. 2, according to his obituary. Visitation is 10 a.m. until noon at First Christian Church, 3638 Middle Urbana Road in Springfield. The funeral will begin at noon.
