Man dead after crash involving concrete mixer truck in Warren County

WARREN COUNTY — A man is dead after a crash in Warren County Monday morning.

The crash happened around 8:30 a.m. on Greenetree Road near Union Road in Monroe, according to a spokesperson for the Ohio State Highway Patrol.

Preliminary investigation revealed a concrete mixer driven by a 31-year-old Hamilton man was heading east on Greentree Road and a car driven by 82-year-old William Mapes, of Lebanon, was heading west on Greentree Road, the spokesperson said.

The car went left of center, striking the concrete mixer head-on.

Mapes was transported by medics to Atrium Medical Center with life-threatening injuries, where he later died.

The driver of the concrete mixer was not injured as a result of the crash.

The crash remains under investigation at this time.
