Coroner identifies man killed in crash in Kettering

KETTERING — A man is dead after a crash in Kettering Friday evening.

The Montgomery County Coroner’s Office identified the man Monday as 55-year-old Roger Reynolds.

Around 7:12 p.m., Reynolds was driving southbound on Wilmington Pike when his vehicle traveled off of the right side of the road near Ansel Drive, crossed a parking lot, and struck a tree, according to a Kettering Police Department crash report.

Reynolds was trapped and had to be removed with Kettering Fire Department rescue tools, the report said.

Medics transported Reynolds to Kettering Medical Center where he died from his injuries.

According to the crash report, witness statements and video footage captured by city cameras indicated the vehicle was traveling at a high rate of speed prior to the crash, and that the speedometer was stuck at 94 mph.
