ADAMS COUNTY, Ohio — A 49-year-old man is dead after a crash in Adams County, Ohio early Sunday morning, according to a spokesperson with the Ohio State Highway Patrol.

The crash occurred on State Route 136 in Liberty Township at approximately 12:19 a.m.

A preliminary investigation found that Marty Dotson, of West Union, was driving a Chevrolet Malibu south on SR-136 at the time of the crash.
Dotson failed to negotiate a curve and drove off the left side of the road, according to the spokesperson.
The car went down into an embankment and hit a tree.
Dotson was pronounced dead on scene.
A 41-year-old man, who was the front seat passenger, was transported to Adams County Regional Medical Center with serious injuries.
Troopers said Dotson was not wearing a seatbelt when the crash occurred.
This crash remains under investigation by the Ohio State Highway Patrol Germantown Post.
