Man dies after crashing motorcycle into guardrail in Dayton

DAYTON — A man is dead after crashing his motorcycle in Dayton Wednesday.

The driver, only being described as a 59-year-old man pending notification of his next of kin, was heading westbound on the State Route 4 ramp to I-75 late Wednesday morning when the crash occurred.

The man lost control of his Honda motorcycle and crashed into a guardrail. He also was thrown from his motorcycle, Dayton Police Lt. Stephen Clark said.

He was taken to Miami Valley Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Clark said Thursday that the driver was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.

The crash remains under investigation.
