Springfield police and fire were dispatched to the intersection of Floral Avenue and Stratford Place at around 7:25 a.m. on reports of a vehicle into a structure, the city’s dispatch told News Center 7.

When responders arrived, they found a car crashed into a house near the intersection, dispatch confirmed.

Witnesses stated that the male driver exited the car after the crash and ran down Floral Avenue, classifying the incident as a “hit-skip” or a “hit-and-run,” dispatch said.
