Man found competent to stand trial in deadly Huber Heights shooting

HUBER HEIGHTS — Levi Lambert, the man accused of killing a 19-year-old Huber Heights man, today was found competent to stand trial.

Lambert, 19, will be back in court next week for trial scheduling, according to the Montgomery County Common Pleas Court.

Lambert is accused of fatally shooting Evan Lewis on Aug. 5.

Lambert’s attorney requested an evaluation of his client’s mental condition at the end of August, according to court documents.

Lambert is facing two counts of murder, one count of improperly discharging a firearm at or into a habitation, two counts of felonious assault and one count of tampering with evidence.

Lewis was found severely injured at the intersection of Bellefontaine Road and Hilgeford Drive, according to the Montgomery County Prosecutor's Office.

He was taken to Miami Valley Hospital, where he died from his injuries.
