HARRISON TOWNSHIP — A man who was found lying on the ground following a two-vehicle crash was confirmed to be dead in Harrison Township late Friday night.
The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office, Harrison Township Substation responded to the 7000 block of North Dixie Drive at 11:51 p.m. on reports of a multi-vehicle crash with possible injuries, Montgomery County Regional Dispatch confirmed.
When deputies arrived, they discovered that two cars crashed into one another and that a man was lying on the ground, prompting a medical response, dispatch continued.
However, after attempted treatments, the man was pronounced dead at the scene by Harrison Fire, a spokesperson for the sheriff’s office said.
A preliminary investigation found that a white 2014 Chevy Volt attempted to cross all four lanes of Dixie Drive to head eastbound on Arthur Avenue from the parking lot of American Legion. The Chevy Volt pulled in front of a 2021 Harley Davidson motorcycle that was headed northbound on North Dixie Drive.
The two vehicles crashed and caused the man to be found lying on the ground.
The driver and passenger of the Chevy Volt reported no injuries.
The Traffic Services Unit of the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office led the investigation into the crash.
