DAYTON — A man is dead after a shooting in Dayton shortly after midnight Monday.
Officers were dispatched at approximately 12:10 a.m. to the 2700 block of Oxford Avenue on the report of a shooting, according to a spokesperson for Dayton police.

Upon their arrival, they located an adult male who had been shot, the spokespersons said. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The victim was identified as a 38-year-old man, according to a Dayton police incident report.
Homicide detectives were called to the scene to investigate.
According to police, this does not appear to be a random act of violence, but a targeted attack. No suspects have been taken into custody at this time.
