RICHMOND, Indiana — Richmond High School learned of the death of two of its students in less than 24 hours on the district’s last day of school.

Richmond High School Superintendent Todd Terrill confirmed it was high school senior Antwone Tremell Montre Carpenter who was shot and killed early Tuesday morning.
Antwone Carpenter died in surgery at Miami Valley Hospital after being shot and flown to the trauma center.
Richmond High School freshman, Diante Taylor, 15, drowned in a Preble County lake Monday.
The school held a moment of silence for both students on this last day of school.
The district offered thoughts, prayers and condolences to the family and friends of the students through a statement released today. School counselors are available for grieving students.

A shooting victim found in the front yard of a Richmond, Indiana apartment early Tuesday morning, died after being transported to a Dayton hospital, according to police.

Officers responded to the 800 block of North 15th Street around 12:15 a.m. on initial reports of a person down, Richmond police said in a media release.
The victim, later identified as Antwone Tremell Montre Carpenter, was first transported to Reid Hospital, but was later transported by a medical helicopter to Miami Valley Hospital, police said.
Carpenter later died from his injuries at the hospital around 4:40 a.m., police said. His hometown and age were not released by police.
