In May 2018, a 911 caller said her 14-year-old son said his father left the home around 11 p.m. the night before and didn’t return. The woman said someone entered the home hours later and tied up her son and another boy.

Cedric Holt Jr., identified as the father of one of the teens, was found deceased in a Springfield park about 9 a.m. His death was ruled a homicide.
