Man issues plea, another sentence after multiple guns stolen in Harrison Twp.

HARRISON TOWNSHIP — A man has pleaded guilty and another sentenced related to an aggravated burglary and shooting in Harrison Township.

Steve McCubbin pleaded guilty to one count of complicity to commit burglary in a plea agreement Tuesday in Montgomery County Pleas Court, according to court documents.

Jerry Knight, Sr. was sentenced to five to seven-and-half years in prison after pleading guilty in November to one count of aggravated burglary.

As previously reported by News Center 7, Montgomery County Sheriff’s deputies were called on Sept. 23 to a burglary at a home in the 5500 block of Brantford Road where multiple firearms and other items had been stolen.

The next day, the homeowner confronted two male suspects who had re-entered the home, which resulted in the homeowner discharging a firearm at one of the men.

Deputies later located and arrested Steven Schroyer, Knight, and McCubbin, one of whom had been shot.

“Thanks to the diligent work of detectives, additional suspects were quickly identified,” the sheriff’s office said. “Search warrants were executed in Trotwood and Jefferson Township, resulting in the recovery of a vehicle connected to the crime as well as several of the stolen firearms.”

McCubbin is facing as much as nine months to three years in prison and fines up to $10,000, followed by five years of parole, court records indicate.

As part of the plea, he must pay at least $5,600 in restitution and have no contact with the victim. His next court appearance is scheduled for Jan. 15

Knight received credit for 66 days spent in jail, followed by two five years of parole, court records stated.

He was also ordered to pay at least $5,600 in restitution to the victim.
