Man killed in Dayton shooting served prison time for string of 2017 pharmacy robberies

DAYTON — A Dayton man shot and killed Tuesday night was convicted on federal charges for multiple robberies at area CVS Pharmacy locations in 2017, according to court and jail records.

Calvin C. Tribble, 21, was shot and killed inside a car on Wentworth Avenue Tuesday around 9 p.m., according to Dayton police and the Montgomery County Coroner’s Office.

Tribble was arrested on April 19, 2017 following an attempted robbery at a Middletown CVS Pharmacy.

Tribble, along with five others, faced federal charges for a string of pharmacy robberies between March and June 2017 in Beavercreek, Cincinnati, Dayton, Fairfield, Franklin, Hamilton, Kettering, Middletown, Moraine, Oakwood, Trotwood, Vandalia, Westerville, and Union Twp.

Tribble was sentenced to 16 months in prison for his role in the crimes, according to the United States Attorney’s Office.

It was not immediately known when Tribble was released from prison.
