Man identified in early-morning deadly pedestrian strike in Harrison Twp.

HARRISON TWP. — A Dayton-area man is dead after being struck by an SUV early this morning, according to Montgomery County officials.

The man was identified as Leothis Johnson, 65, according to the Montgomery County Coroner’s Office.

Montgomery County Sheriff’s deputies and the Harrison Township Fire Department responded to the area of Markey Road and Anniston Drive in Harrison Township at around 1:50 a.m. for a report of a crash involving a pedestrian, according to a sheriff’s office press release.

Preliminary investigation found that black 2018 Jeep Cherokee, driven by a 53-year-old woman, was traveling northeast on Markey Road when it struck a 65-year-old man.

The man was killed in the collision, and the woman was unharmed.

The crash remains under investigation.
