MIDDLETOWN, Butler County — Police officers shot and killed one person in Middletown on Christmas Eve, according to our media partners WCPO-9 TV.

The man shot and killed has been identified as 50-year-old Christopher Gorak, according to WCPO-9 TV.

Front Line Advisors’ Daniel Hills told WCPO-9 TV that Middletown police were called to the Olde Towne Apartment in the 1000 block of Park Lane for reports of two men fighting at approximately 7:19 p.m.
Officers knocked on the apartment door and identified themselves.
WCPO-9 TV reports that the suspect opened the door with a firearm and allegedly pointed it at the officers.
Police then shot the suspect.
The suspect was later pronounced dead, according to WCPO-9 TV. It is unclear if they were transported to the hospital.
No police officers were hurt in this shooting.
The Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation (BCI) was called to investigate this shooting.
