‘My voice will be heard;’ Sister of man killed in Dayton bar shooting wants justice for her brother

DAYTON — A family is looking for answers after a 28-year-old man was killed in a shooting at a Dayton bar over the weekend.

Aaron Tigner, 28, was identified as the victim in the shooting at Partners on early Saturday morning, according to the Montgomery County Coroner’s Office.

As reported on News Center 7 at 6:00, Tigner’s sister said his death has rocked their family.

“This is definitely going to be a major impact for my family. It will be felt for a while to come,” Ashley Hall said.

She said he brother was the father of young children who will now have to grow up without a father.

“He really had a community behind him and we just hope that his killer knows you really took somebody away that meant a lot to a lot of people,” Hall said. “And I’m not one that’s going to just let this go. I’m gonna get my brother’s picture out there. My voice will be heard until justice is served for my brother.”

As previously reported, police and medics were called out to the area of Partners in the 400 block of Patterson Road around 1:30 a.m. on Saturday, Montgomery County Regional Dispatch confirmed.

The family said Tigner and a friend went to the bar on Friday night. They spent some time there, then crossed the street to another bar called the Brewski Barrel. His sisters believe there was a confrontation there between Tigner and another man.

Tigner’s sisters said he and his friend closed out their tab and began walking back to Partners, where they had parked. That’s when the shooting happened.

Tigner was taken to Miami Valley Hospital where he later died.

This shooting is under investigation by the Dayton Police Department.

Tigner’s family is asking anyone with information to come forward.
