MIAMI TOWNSHIP — A man was sentenced for the 2022 deadly shooting of his girlfriend in Miami Township.

Juvall Jenkins, 31, pleaded guilty to two felony counts each of murder and felonious assault Tuesday, according to the Montgomery County Prosecutor’s Officer.
As previously reported by News Center 7, officers responded on Dec. 17, 2022, to a report of shots fired at the Spring Hill Apartments on State Route 741.

Upon arrival, officers met with a resident who reported a bullet had hit a bedroom wall.
They determined the direction the bullet came from and went to that apartment.
Officers found the deceased body of Kayla Marie Davis, 29, who was shot several times.

Several hours later, Jenkins approached a state trooper in Tennessee. He said that he shot his girlfriend and troopers located a gun, the prosecutor’s office said.
Tennessee State Troopers transported him back to Montgomery County.
Jenkins pleaded guilty to all charges.
He was sentenced to 15 years to life plus an additional three years for using a firearm, the prosecutor’s office.
That is a total of 18 years to life.
