DAYTON — A man was seriously injured after he was hit by a stolen vehicle Monday in Dayton.
The crash was reported around 4 p.m. in the area of East Third Street and Harshman Street, a Dayton police crash report indicated.
According to the report, a stolen vehicle, owned by ComputNet Clinical Laboratories, was heading West on East Third Street at an excessive rate of speed and hit a 56-year-old man.

The man, William Rowland, suffered serious injuries and was taken to Miami Valley Hospital.
The man’s girlfriend told News Center 7 Tuesday that he was struck while riding his bicycle, and if he hadn’t have been wearing a helmet, he might not be alive.
“I will believe to my dying day that God saved him by having that helmet on,” Holly Steen said.
Steen said her heart dropped when she walked into see her 56-year-old boyfriend in the hospital.
“He does not remember what happened, his only recollection is he was hit from behind,” Steen said.
Steen showed pictures of the bike Rowland was riding on his way home from work. The back half of the bike is smashed in.
Steen said Rowland broke his leg, collarbone and neck bone. He will be out of work for two months, she said.
The driver of the vehicle reportedly failed to stop after the crash.
The driver, identified as 25-year-old Isaiah McKenzie, was later taken into custody, according to the crash report.
McKenzie is currently booked in the Montgomery County Jail.
He is charged with robbery, obstructing official business, and resisting arrest. His bail is set at $50,000.
