DAYTON — A man who was shot by police after allegedly pointing a gun at them has learned his sentence.

Eric Grady, 46, of Dayton was sentenced to a total of two and a half years in prison on Wednesday, according to Montgomery County Common Pleas Court records. He will also have to pay a $7,500 fine.

Grady pleaded guilty to two counts of having weapons while under disability and one count of possession of cocaine, according to a previous News Center 7 report.
Court records indicate that Grady received credit for 108 days he has already spent in jail.
The shooting took place in the 900 block of Custer Place on Aug. 23, 2024.
Dayton police responded to the area after receiving complaints about someone with a weapon.
Police said they found Grady with a gun when they arrived on scene.
Officers fired shots at Grady after he reportedly pointed the gun at them.
Grady was hospitalized but was later released and booked into the Montgomery County Jail.
A Montgomery County Grand Jury decided not to indict the two Dayton officers involved in December.
Court records indicate that Grady may face up to two years of parole when he is released from jail.
Grady is currently not booked into the Montgomery County Jail.
