As reported on News Center 7 at 5, in a letter to families, Valley View Local School District described the “distressing incident” that happened on one of their buses Monday.

TRENDING STORIES:

The district said at one of the stops a man holding a baseball attempted to get on the bus.

When the driver told the man he could not be on the bus, he exposed himself and then left, the district said.

Police said the man then hit a car behind the bus with the bat.

The man was detained and was taken to Miami Valley Hospital for a mental evaluation.

Police said they don’t believe the man exposing himself was on purpose.

“We don’t believe there was any intent to expose himself. Allegedly his pants did fall down. And when we detained him, he again was not able to keep his pants up. We believe it was a wardrobe malfunction rather than intent to expose himself,” Mark Bruner, Jackson Township police chief said.

District officials applauded the bus driver for not allowing the man on the bus.

We will continue to follow this story.
