Photos from the scene show one car off into a field and another car in the intersection, both with heavy damage.

An initial investigation showed that the first vehicle involved was heading south on Frederik Pike and the second, occupied by Parrish and Mowen, was heading east on Old Springfield Road when the crash happened.

The driver of the first vehicle was taken to Miami Valley Hospital North. Their condition is unknown at this time. Parrish and Mowen died on scene.

The crash closed the road for a few hours while crews conducted their investigation.

Porter said the crash remains under investigation.
