A visitation will be held Friday, Oct. 5, at Christ Church in Mason where Mary performed ballet, according to the district.

A viewing for students begins at 3 p.m. The public is welcome starting at 6 p.m.

A Mass to honor Mary begins at 9:30 a.m. Saturday at Mueller Funeral Home on Tylersville Road.

Mary will be buried at Rose Hill Cemetery following the Mass.

A Mason High School student died Friday following a bicycle crash the day before.

“Mary Scheeler had a gift for making her friends and family feel loved,” Mason City Schools posted on social media. “We will miss her dearly. Our hearts are with the Scheeler family and all who were lucky enough to know Mary.”

Scheeler, 18, was hit by a vehicle around 7:50 p.m. Thursday while riding her bike in the area of Mason Montgomery and Bethany roads, according to a Mason police release, our news partner WCPO-TV in Cincinnati reported.

She was taken to West Chester Hospital, then flown to University of Cincinnati Medical Center, where she died Friday.

“Mary loved playing with basketball, riding her bike, and Doc McStuffins,” Mason schools posted on its Facebook page.

The Mason junior had Down syndrome, and according to school officials, “she was wonderful at making her friends and family feel loved.”

The district’s crisis team will be available for students on Monday.

Funeral arrangements are pending.
