Pastor Al Banister had his church in this building in Troy since 2012.
“That door actually goes upstairs to the sanctuary or downstairs to the basement where we have Sunday school rooms,” Banister said.
It needs repairs because of what prompted a call from one of his church members Monday morning.
They told him that a car was in his church.
Security cameras from one of Troy’s fire stations show it happened just after 10 a.m.
A car slams into the church, and seconds later Troy police pull up behind it.

Banister shared what he saw when he arrived at the scene later.
“Just a totaled car and a bunch of debris everywhere ... they had already taken the suspect and all that,” he said.
Troy police said Zachary Henry was driving that car.
They spotted him Monday morning and said he had active warrants for his arrest.
Officers said Henry sped off and lost control when he crossed railroad tracks near the church.
He was flown to Miami Valley Hospital with serious injuries.
“Just thankful it wasn’t worse than what it was,” Banister said.
Structurally the building is fine.
The pastor worked to get the building secured and to make sure no one could get in until their insurance could get there to inspect it.
We are working to learn the charges Henry is facing and his current condition.
