Coroner identifies 3 women killed in crash on SR 4 south of Germantown Friday

GERMAN TWP., Montgomery County — Three women were killed and two children were critically injured in a crash Friday evening just south of Germantown.

Katie Roberts, 31, and her mother Rebecca Roberts, 61, were both killed in the crash, according to the Montgomery County Coroner’s Office. Ashley Mance, 26, also died.

Two children were taken to Dayton Children’s Hospital. Their conditions were listed as critical.

Family and friends gathered outside the hospital Sunday evening for a vigil, where family members told News Center 7 crews the two injured children were a 7-year-old and 23-month-old.

German Township police confirmed three adults were killed in the crash that happened around 4 p.m. in the 8900 block of State Route 4.

Initial scanner traffic indicated that a vehicle involved may have caught fire.

Emergency crews requested a medical helicopter to respond to the crash to take at least one person to the hospital, according to scanner traffic.

Two vehicles were heavily damaged. Police confirmed that a third vehicle was involved in the crash, but left the scene.

The crash remains under investigation.
