MIAMI COUNTY — A Miami East High School student was injured and flown to an area hospital following a two-vehicle crash Friday, according to investigators.

The student, who was not identified, was the driver of a pickup truck that collided with a van in the 3000 block of East Peterson Road, near Casstown-Sidney Road.

They were transported to Upper Valley Medical Center before being flown to another hospital by a CareFlight medical helicopter.
The condition of the student wasn’t immediately known.
Several other people were in a van that was also in the crash, however no one in that vehicle was injured, investigators said.
The crash remains under investigation by the Miami County Sheriff’s Office.
