Memorial Day tornadoes, population growth causes new voting locations for Montgomery Co. residents

MONTGOMERY COUNTY — Up to 60,000, Montgomery County residents have a new precinct and polling location for the May 3 primary elections, according to the city of Trotwood.

Sarah Greathouse, deputy director of Montgomery County Board of Elections, said in a release that precinct lines need to be redrawn due to population growth in cities like Huber Heights, Washington Township and Kettering and population loss in the northern part of Dayton due to destruction caused by the 2019 Memorial Day tornadoes.

In Dec. 2021 the Board of Elections approved the newly drawn Montgomery Co. precinct map.
