Mercy Health creates fundraising website to support Ukraine; Pledges $500K

Bon Secours Mercy Health has created a fundraising website to accept donations for medical supplies, relief aid and refugee support for people in Ukraine.

Mercy Health said in a social media post that they have European partner organizations with direct supply lines into Ukraine.

“It is clear that financial resources are most needed at this time and by working with trusted partners, we can ensure that the needed supplies will be purchased and delivered directly to those who need it,” John Starcher, chief executive officer of Mercy Health said in a release.

The health network will work with Medical Help Ukraine, a group of Ukrainian doctors working in Ireland to give medical aid and Polish Rescue Organization, an independent, non-profit, founded by doctors, who are currently purchasing medical supplies for Ukraine, according to the release.

Mercy Health said they have already donated $500,000 towards the effort.
