MIAMI COUNTY — Memorial Day is the unofficial start of summer and firefighters in Pleasant Hill served up barbecued chicken dinners during their annual Memorial Day fundraiser on Sunday.
After having to cancel last year due to COVID-19, firefighters in Pleasant Hill resumed their annual tradition of the carryout dinners.

The firefighters cooked 700 chicken dinners, which all sold in about an hour.
The proceeds of the fundraiser go towards the purchase of equipment that the firefighters use to fight fires in Pleasant Hill and Newton Twp.
