FIRST REPORT July, 2021

Brooke McCullough was reported missing on July 19 around 7:30 p.m. and her body was found two days later.

“The investigation lead to the discovery of her body in west Dayton on July 21,” said Maj. Matthew Sturgeon with Riverside Police. “She was found laying next to a couch that was dumped.”

A Dayton police report showed Dayton police helped Riverside police in a field/wooded area in the 3400 block of Nancy Avenue on July 21. McClullough was listed as being involved in the report.

Sturgeon said the toxicology reports from the autopsy are not finalized, however “the preliminary findings are pointing toward an overdose.”

Details about how McCullough’s body got to where it was dumped were not immediately available.

Sturgeon said the department wrote search warrants for cell phone records and also used information from family members, including details from the Life360 app and Apple’s Find my iPhone, before her body was found.

Online records revealed there have not been any charges filed in the case.
