Montgomery County Board of Elections looking to schedule 100 more poll workers for primary

MONTGOMERY COUNTY — The Montgomery County Board of Elections is looking to schedule 100 more poll workers for the primary.

Poll workers check voters in, assist voters if they need help, and watch to make sure voters don’t accidentally leave before casting their ballot.

All new poll workers need training, and new hires are paid for their time training and during election day.

Training will cost the new hires nothing, says Jeff Rezabek, Director of Montgomery County Board of Elections.

“They not only get paid for the whole day but they also get paid for training. They roughly get anywhere from 120 to 135 plus an additional 25 for that during the training,” Rezabek said.

Rezabek told us if there are not enough poll workers hired, poll workers from other precinct polling locations will be moved to fill the void.
