Man dies in Fairfield motorcycle crash after passers-by perform CPR

UPDATE @ 8 p.m.:

A man who received CPR multiple times has died following a crash at South Gilmore Road and Resor Road, according to a press release from the Fairfield police department.

A 1997 Harley Davidson motorcycle was traveling south on South Gilmore Road at the same time a 2017 Toyota Highlander SUV was turning left on Resor Road after traveling north on South Gilmore Road.

The two vehicles collided and the driver of the motorcycle was taken to Mercy Hospital by life squad where he was pronounced dead.

The driver of the SUV was taken to Mercy Hospital for minor injuries by family members.

The crash is still under investigation.

INITIAL REPORT:

A motorcyclist has been injured in a wreck that a dispatcher said involved a car at South Gilmore Road and Resor Road.

Motorists were performing CPR on the motorcycle rider. He was transported to the Mercy Health — Fairfield Hospital.

His condition was not immediately available, but scanner traffic indicates that he continued to receive CPR as he arrived at the hospital.

A crash reconstruction team is on the scene.
